INSPIRING THE FUTURE, ONE CLASSROOM AT A TIME

Teach For Nigeria {TFN}, a non- governmental organization and global network of social enterprise, working to increase access to quality education as well as expanding educational opportunities around the world has been launched.

Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Folawe Omikunle in her address during the launch said that the Teach For Nigeria Fellowship Program is focused on developing a movement of leaders committed to addressing the shortcomings in the education system across the country. She further disclosed that the TFN project was to recruit and train Nigerian’s best and brightest graduates, working youths and entrepreneurs from different academic disciplines to teach as full time teachers in underserved schools in low income communities.

According to her the mission of the organization is to channel more of our society’s most capable human resources against the problem of education inequality. ‘we want to develop strong, collaborative, determined leaders who understand the root causes of inequality  in education and are committed to challenging it’ she said.

The Teach For Nigeria fellowship is a transformational leadership program that equips Fellows with transferable leadership skills to effect change beyond the classrooms in the communities we serve.

After the Fellowship, alumni of Teach For Nigeria build on their classroom teaching experience to drive long-term systemic changes in the educational sector in Nigeria as they progress into leadership roles in their varied professions.
